Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 24, 2026

We respect your privacy and are committed to safeguarding it while you are online at www.speakerhub.com (the "Site") and communicating with SpeakerHUB ("us", "we", or "our"). This document discloses how we gather and use information for this Site.

Our Contact Information

SpeakerHUB

1709 Wilford Ave
East St. Louis, IL 62207, USA

[email protected]

Lawful Basis of Our Privacy Policy

The data privacy policy of SpeakerHUB is based on the provisions of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Although this regulation only applies to protect EU citizens, we voluntarily extend the individual rights granted under GDPR to all of our customers worldwide.

We use legitimate interests as the lawful basis for processing your data under GDPR regulations.

What Are the Legitimate Interests?

SpeakerHUB's legitimate interests are its business needs, balanced against the rights and freedoms of all individuals affected by those needs. Our legitimate interests are to attract speakers and event organizers to the Site in order to build a symbiotic environment of benefit to both — offering resources, tools, and educational content to assist speakers in finding gigs and event organizers in finding speakers.

Risks to customers are considered minimal: all have self-enrolled, we handle their data securely and responsibly, and we offer easy options to unsubscribe from any or all communication methods. We do not undertake any data processing or usage that customers would not reasonably expect.

What We Do With Your Data

Your data may be used for the following purposes:

  • Providing services: We use the information you give us to perform the services you've requested, such as publishing your speaker page or event details.
  • Service communications: We send communications about services we offer and any changes to those services.
  • Messaging: Other SpeakerHUB users — speakers and event organizers — will be able to message you and vice versa.
  • Recommendations: You will receive an email notification when someone recommends your speaker page.
  • Speaker Application Updates: You will receive updates about events you've applied for.
  • Event Comments: You will receive email notifications about comments on your events.
  • Profile Reminders: We will send you emails about making your speaker page more robust.
  • Payment verification: We use your payment information for accounting, billing, audit purposes, and to detect or prevent fraudulent activity.
  • Security and compliance: We may pass your information to government authorities or enforcement bodies for compliance with legal requirements.
  • Customer service: We use your data to manage our relationship with you as a customer and to improve our services.
  • Weekly Newsletter: We send a weekly newsletter with links to articles and resources about speaking-related topics.

You may opt in or out of receiving any of these communications through your notification preferences page. Every email we send includes the opportunity to unsubscribe.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request information about whether we hold personal information about you, and what that information is.
  • Access your personal information (a "data subject access request") — receive a copy of the personal information we hold and verify it is being lawfully processed.
  • Request correction of any incomplete or inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Request erasure of your personal information where there is no good reason for us to continue processing it.
  • Object to processing where we are relying on legitimate interest or where we are processing for direct marketing purposes.
  • Object to automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.
  • Request restriction of processing — ask us to suspend processing your data in certain circumstances.
  • Request data portability — receive your personal data in an electronic, structured format and transfer it to another party.
  • Withdraw consent at any time for any processing to which you previously gave consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email a request to [email protected]. There is no fee to access your personal information or exercise any of these rights. We may request specific information to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.

Security of Your Personal Data

We follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of your personal data, protecting it against accidental loss, destruction, or damage. Data you provide is protected using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology — the industry standard for encrypting personal information and credit card details for secure internet transfer.

Retention of Your Data

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active, in order to provide access to our services and comply with our legal obligations. If you are inactive on our site and not opening communications from us for a period of 2 years, we will delete all your data from our system. We will email you at least 30 days before doing so to give you an opportunity to request that we retain your data.

With Whom Do We Share Your Data?

Your personal information will never be sold by us. Your personal information will not be passed to a third party except for those providing services to us — for example:

  • Email address data provided to a third-party newsletter sending service
  • Access granted to web developers to improve our service
  • Information provided to a third party for the purposes of processing credit card payments

Billing and Payment Processors

For billing purposes, we require customers to provide their full name and billing address. For payments through Stripe, billing address information is provided directly by the customer to us. For payments via PayPal, PayPal's policy forwards the customer's billing address to us. Neither payment processor discloses credit card details to us.

You may view, change, or delete your personal information (including billing address) by logging in to your account at the Site or by contacting us directly.

Consent to Communication

By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you consent to SpeakerHUB contacting you through various forms of telecommunications for informational, transactional, and marketing purposes. These may include phone calls, emails, SMS messages, video calls, and other electronic or digital communication methods.

You can opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in the communications or by contacting us at [email protected]. Please note that opting out of certain communication types may limit your ability to fully utilize SpeakerHUB's services.

Cookies

When you visit or log in to our website, cookies and similar technologies may be used by our online data partners or vendors to associate these activities with other personal information they or others have about you, including by association with your email. We (or service providers on our behalf) may then send communications and marketing to these email addresses.

You may opt out of receiving this advertising by visiting app.retention.com/optout and also unsubscribing from our email newsletter. If you continue to receive unwanted communications or need your data removed, email us at [email protected].

Children's Personal Information

The Site is designed for an adult audience and is not aimed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will promptly delete it. If you believe a child under 16 may have provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address in the "Our Contact Information" section above.

Other Considerations

This Site contains links to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those other sites. Use of those sites is governed by their own terms and policies.

We may allow outside companies to display ads on the Site. These ads may contain cookies whose data is collected by external advertising companies.

Whenever you voluntarily post information to the public profile you show on the Site, or the public comment areas on the Site or any other public forums, the information you post can be accessed by the public. We are not responsible for any information that is disclosed publicly through the Site.

We have the right, but no obligation, to monitor content posted on the Site. We reserve the right to remove any information or material for any reason, including if it violates applicable law or our Terms and Conditions.

Copyright Infringement Notification

If you believe that any content on the Site violates your intellectual property rights, please contact us and include substantially all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or a representative list if there are multiple works.

  4. Contact information allowing us to reach you: address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

Written notices should be submitted via our Contact form. Any person who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be subject to liability for damages.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may make changes to this Privacy Policy from time to time. Use of information we collect is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is collected or used. If we make changes to how we use your personal information, we will notify you via email or by posting an announcement on the Site.

You are bound by any changes to the Privacy Policy when you use the Site after the first notification that changes have been posted.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us through our Contact form or using the contact information provided in this document.
